The ASUS ProArt OLED PA279CDV is a 26.5-inch 4K QD-OLED monitor designed for photo editing, video production, graphic design and colour-sensitive creative work. Combining 3840 × 2160 resolution, 99% DCI-P3 coverage and Calman Verified colour performance, it gives creators a high-resolution workspace for detailed visual projects.

Its QD-OLED panel delivers deep blacks, exceptional contrast and precise control of individual pixels. With 1.5 million:1 contrast, HDR10 support and VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification, the PA279CDV is suited to reviewing images and video containing both dark and bright details. The 166 PPI pixel density also helps keep photographs, typography and interface elements sharp.

For colour-focused workflows, the monitor covers 100% sRGB and 99% DCI-P3, making it relevant for Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve users. Its 120Hz refresh rate provides smoother scrolling, timeline navigation and general desktop interaction than a conventional 60Hz display.

Connectivity is another advantage. USB-C with up to 96W Power Delivery supports compatible laptop charging and video transmission through one connection. A built-in KVM switch, USB hub, HDMI 2.1 and dual DisplayPort 1.4 inputs make it easier to work across multiple computers.

The fully adjustable stand supports height, tilt, swivel and portrait rotation, while VESA 100 × 100 mm compatibility allows alternative mounting.

The PA279CDV combines a 3840 × 2160 resolution with QD-OLED technology, making it suitable for photographers who need to inspect fine details, evaluate contrast and work with a wide range of colours.

Unlike conventional LCD panels that rely on a backlight, OLED pixels emit their own light. This allows individual pixels to turn off for deep blacks and improves separation between bright and dark image areas.

The 166 PPI pixel density provides detailed image reproduction, although applications may require interface scaling for comfortable viewing.

For photographers using Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop, the combination of 4K resolution and wide colour coverage provides a capable editing workspace.
Colour coverage is one of the most important specifications when choosing a monitor for creative work.

The ASUS ProArt OLED PA279CDV offers:

99% DCI-P3: Wide-gamut coverage for video and digital content workflows.

100% sRGB: Full coverage of the standard colour space widely used for web graphics and online images.

Calman Verified: Certification associated with colour performance and calibration validation.

1.073 billion colours: Support for displaying approximately 1.07 billion colour values.

These specifications make the monitor relevant for colour-sensitive workflows, but accurate output also depends on the selected colour mode, calibration, software and colour-management settings.

For print-focused workflows, Adobe RGB coverage has not been specified and should not be assumed.
The PA279CDV offers a useful combination of 4K resolution, wide colour coverage and HDR support for video creators.

Its DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification and HDR10 compatibility make it suitable for reviewing HDR material within the monitor's capabilities.

However, the supplied specifications list 250 cd/m² typical brightness and do not provide a verified peak HDR brightness figure. The PA279CDV should not be presented as a substitute for a dedicated high-brightness HDR mastering display.

The 120Hz refresh rate also improves the responsiveness of editing interfaces and timeline navigation.

For creators using Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve, the combination of resolution, contrast and connectivity can support an efficient desktop workflow.

Both monitors belong to the ASUS ProArt family, but they address different creative priorities.
