Keychron K4 HE Special Edition Wireless Magnetic Keyboard

The Special Edition is designed for buyers who want high-performance magnetic keyboard technology with more distinctive materials and finishing.

Its aluminium frame and natural dark rosewood accents create a contrast between the black keyboard body and genuine wood detailing. Because rosewood is a natural material, grain patterns and colour variations may differ slightly between individual units.

The Special Edition also uses OSA-profile double-shot PBT keycaps rather than the Cherry-profile shine-through keycaps found on the standard version.

The PBT material offers good resistance to surface shine, while the sculpted OSA profile provides a distinctive typing feel.

The K4 HE allows individual key actuation points to be configured from 0.2mm to 3.8mm, in 0.1mm increments.

Shallow actuation can help register gaming inputs with less key travel, while deeper settings may reduce accidental presses during everyday typing.

Dynamic Rapid Trigger activates and resets a key based on its movement rather than a fixed reset point.

For competitive FPS players, this can make repeated movement inputs and rapid direction changes more responsive.

The K4 HE supports advanced directional-input functions:

• Last Key Priority: Prioritises the most recently pressed key when opposing movement inputs overlap.

• Snap Click: Prioritises the deeper keypress when conflicting inputs occur.

• Dynamic Rapid Trigger: Adjusts key activation and reset according to movement.

These functions may be useful in competitive gaming, but some games and tournaments restrict input-assistance features. Players should check the relevant rules before enabling them.

Dynamic Keystrokes (DKS) allows up to four actions to be assigned to a single key based on press and release depth.

For example, a light press can trigger walking, while a deeper press can activate running, depending on the game and configuration.

Analog Mode enables variable inputs based on how far a key is pressed, providing controller-like control in compatible racing games and other applications.

The Keychron K4 HE supports three connection modes:

• 2.4GHz Wireless: Up to 1,000Hz polling for gaming.

• USB-C Wired: Up to 1,000Hz polling for direct connectivity.

• Bluetooth 5.2: Up to 125Hz polling and pairing with three compatible devices.

At 1,000Hz, the nominal polling interval is 1ms.

Unlike Keychron's newer 8K models, the K4 HE Special Edition is a 1,000Hz keyboard, not an 8,000Hz model.

2. What is the difference between Keychron K4 HE Special Edition and Standard Edition?

The Special Edition features an aluminium frame with natural rosewood accents and OSA-profile double-shot PBT keycaps. The Standard Edition uses an aluminium frame without rosewood accents and Cherry-profile shine-through PBT keycaps.

3. Does the Keychron K4 HE Special Edition use real wood?

Yes. The Black Special Edition features natural dark rosewood accents. Wood grain and colour can vary slightly between individual keyboards.

4. Does the Keychron K4 HE support Rapid Trigger?

Yes. Dynamic Rapid Trigger allows keys to activate and reset according to their movement rather than fixed actuation and reset points.

5. Can I adjust the actuation point on the Keychron K4 HE?

Yes. Individual keys can be configured between 0.2mm and 3.8mm actuation in 0.1mm increments using Keychron Launcher.
