Wi-Fi 7 Speeds Up to 6.5 Gbps

The Cudy WR6500 belongs to the BE6500 wireless speed class, combining theoretical maximum rates of 5765 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz.

These figures represent combined wireless link-rate capabilities, not the speed of a single device or an internet connection.

Actual performance depends on client compatibility, distance, interference, network configuration and broadband speed.

Dual-Band Connectivity for Modern Devices

The router operates on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies.

The 2.4 GHz band generally provides broader coverage, while 5 GHz is suited to higher-throughput connections at shorter distances.

Important: The WR6500 is a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router. It does not offer a dedicated 6 GHz wireless band.

Four Gigabit Ethernet LAN Ports

Connect compatible gaming PCs, desktop workstations, smart TVs and other wired equipment through four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports supporting 10/100/1000 Mbps.

A wired connection avoids local Wi-Fi interference and is useful for stationary devices where consistent network connectivity matters.

For complementary computer equipment, browse PC Accessories.

Quad-Core 2 GHz Processor

The WR6500 features a quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor operating at 2 GHz.

The processor supports the router's network management and traffic-handling functions, although actual routing performance depends on firmware, configuration and connected devices.

WPA3 Security and Parental Controls

The router supports WPA, WPA2 and WPA3 wireless security, alongside guest network access, parental controls and SPI/DoS firewall protection.

These features help users manage device access and configure their network according to household or office requirements.

Flexible Broadband Configuration

With Ethernet WAN connectivity and support for PPPoE, static IP and DHCP, the WR6500 can work with different broadband network configurations.

It also supports IPv4 and IPv6, UPnP and DHCP client/server functionality.

Compatibility with a specific internet provider depends on its connection requirements and equipment.
Home Users: Households upgrading to Wi-Fi 7 for streaming, browsing, smart-home devices and everyday connectivity.

Gamers: Users who want fast wireless networking alongside Gigabit Ethernet connections for gaming PCs and consoles.

Remote Workers: Home offices that require reliable local networking, security controls and multiple wired connections.

Families: Households that benefit from guest Wi-Fi, parental controls and modern wireless security.

Small Offices: Workspaces requiring four wired LAN connections, dual-band Wi-Fi and flexible broadband configuration.
When comparing Wi-Fi 7 routers, consider more than the advertised wireless speed. Ethernet port speeds, frequency bands, security features and broadband compatibility can significantly influence which model is suitable.

The Cudy WR6500 offers a BE6500-class dual-band wireless connection with four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports.

However, the router's Gigabit Ethernet LAN connections are limited to 1 Gbps per port, even though the combined theoretical Wi-Fi link rates are substantially higher. The Ethernet WAN port speed should also be confirmed before recommending this model for broadband subscriptions above 1 Gbps.
