How to choose the right ergonomic office chair
Choosing the right office chair is key to maintaining comfort, productivity, and long-term health. Here are the most important factors to consider:
-
Adjustable height — Your feet should rest flat on the floor for optimal posture.
-
Lumbar support — Good lower-back support prevents strain and fatigue.
-
Breathable materials — Mesh helps with airflow and comfort during long work sessions.
-
Seat depth & width — Ensure your thighs are fully supported without pressure behind the knees.
-
Armrest adjustability — Helps reduce shoulder and neck tension.
-
Mobility and swivel — Easy movement reduces strain throughout the day.
Our collection includes ergonomic chairs designed for both home and professional office environments.
FAQ – Office chairs, active sitting & sit-stand stools
1. Which office chair is best for long hours at a desk?
For full-day work at a desk we usually recommend an ergonomic office chair with adjustable seat height, lumbar support, armrests and a breathable backrest (often mesh). If you sit 6–8+ hours a day, look for models with a synchronised tilt mechanism and easy fine-tuning for your height and weight.
2. What’s the difference between an ergonomic chair, an active sitting stool and a sit-stand stool?
-
Ergonomic office chair – best for classic seated work with full back support, armrests and plenty of adjustments.
-
Active sitting stool – encourages gentle movement while you sit; great for keeping your core engaged and avoiding static posture.
-
Sit-stand stool – supports you in a half-standing position at a height-adjustable desk, reducing pressure on your back and legs when you don’t want to sit fully.
3. How do I choose the right chair size for my height?
A good rule of thumb:
-
When seated, your feet should rest flat on the floor.
-
Your knees should be roughly at a 90° angle.
-
The seat depth should let you sit back against the backrest while leaving about 2–3 fingers of space between the seat edge and the back of your knees.
If you’re unsure, send us your height and desk setup and we’ll suggest suitable models.
4. Are your office chairs suitable for home offices as well?
Yes. All our chairs and stools can be used both in professional offices and home workspaces. Many models are chosen specifically for home offices because they combine ergonomic features with a clean, minimal design that fits into living spaces.
5. What do the “On order only” and “10–15 days / 15–20 days” badges mean?
“On order only” means we don’t hold this model in stock – we order it specially for you from the manufacturer.
The 10–15 days or 15–20 days labels show the typical lead time for production and dispatch. Actual delivery time depends on your country; we’ll confirm it in the order confirmation.
6. Do the chairs come assembled? How difficult is the assembly?
Most chairs and stools are delivered flat-packed. Basic assembly is required (typically attaching the base, seat and backrest). You’ll receive clear instructions in the box, and in most cases assembly takes around 15–30 minutes with simple tools.
7. What is the weight capacity of your office chairs and stools?
Weight capacity depends on the specific model, but most office chairs are designed for up to 110–120 kg, and some heavy-duty models support more. If you need a chair for a higher weight range, contact us and we’ll recommend suitable options.
8. Do you offer warranty on office chairs and stools?
Yes. All chairs and stools come with a manufacturer’s warranty, which varies by brand and model (usually from 2 to 5 or even 10 years for example Interstuhl chairs). If anything goes wrong under normal use during the warranty period, we help you handle repair or replacement with the manufacturer.
9. Can you help with larger office projects or multiple chairs?
Absolutely. If you’re furnishing a whole office or several workstations, we can help you choose matching chairs, desks and accessories, and prepare a customised proposal including delivery to your location. Just contact us with a short description of your project.
